It’s been a long time since I’ve acknowledged a new Civil War blog on the scene, but, in that this new one also focuses on a portion of the area which holds my interest… it merits a shout-out. So, for those who are interested in western Maryland… and that general area, thereabouts, in the Civil War… be sure to give A River Divided a look-see. Looks like that blogger is on personal journey of reflection and pursuing meaning in the history… a similar journey to my own. Looking forward to reading more.

With family members both North and South fighting in the War, I’ve decided to refer to that 1860’s conflict as the UN Civil War. (’cause it was! )
My GGF Reuben COFFMAN, and brother James lived in Luray, and were captured at Gettysburg. Apparently they liked that PA. area, They returned there after the war to live near Valley Forge.
I grew up near V.F., and now live in AL.
To me, it seems rather a great waste of energy to keep up the notion that we are still divided !
Thanks for your insights…enjoy your info SO much !
P.A. LEE.
