No, not in uniform, but I’m just as tickled to get this photo of him in years after… no doubt in his pension days…

… and a little closer…

… and closer still…

This is Henry “Hiram” Meadows, and his wife Ardista D. “Anne” Breeden Meadows.

Readers may not be familiar with Henry’s story… so, if you’re interested… see this link to a post about him and his siblings, over at my other blog, Southern Unionists Chronicles. Henry started the war in the 97th Virginia Militia, left Virginia after First Manassas, made his way to Pennsylvania, and there, was drafted into the 143rd Pennsylvania Infantry. I’ve been following his story for a number of years, and this is just icing on the cake!
