I’m trying to get a better grasp on Johnson’s time in Virginia. The big item on the radar is the piece showing runaway slaves, and that was around Manassas. To me, this pic gives me a sense of the Culpeper area. I don’t know, however, if he made it down that way. Could even be a scene from the western reaches of Prince William Co…. Brentsville and around that area.
