Born 10/13/1856, Page Co., Va., a daughter of Abraham “Abram” & Nancy Aleshire Painter. Married William Oakley “Oak” Nauman on October 5, 1876 in Page County, Virginia. She married J. R. Short after 1897. She died 1/15/1925 and was buried in Painter Cem. #3, Stanley, Va.

Mary Caroline Painter Nauman was the sister of my grandfather, Abraham Painter. He is often referred to as “Abram or Jube Painter.” Mary Caroline or Carrie married William Oakley Nauman in 1876. After William’s death in 1897, she married John Russell Short. Carrie was the daughter of Abraham and Nancy Aleshire Painter.

That’s correct. I just created these pages today and haven’t yet loaded content that details all of this. For a “skeletal tree” showing how many of these folks are tied in together, please go through the “About Me” page. This will also generate a dropdown menu “My Tree”, which will also result in a dropdown revealing some of the surnames in my tree. Painter and Nauman are two of the surnames covered.
