Nancy Aleshire Painter was my great grandmother. Her grandfather, Henry Aleshire, was my third great grandfather and he fought in the Revolutionary War. The link between them, Henry’s son George Aleshire (Nancy’s father) had possibly two, if not three wives. At least I see a variation of his name on three marriage records. Does anyone know for sure who Nancy’s mother was and how many wives this George Aleshire had?

I’ve seen a reference to a Delilah Green (widow) being a wife of George Aleshire, but I seem to recall seeing that it is unlikely that she was the mother of Nancy. I’m not sure how many wives George Aleshire had.
