Yet, take another look at this article… there seems to be plenty of folks ready in Richmond, with nothing more than the news of the fall of Sumter, to throw down! This morning we are opening the war portion of the Sesquicentennial. I have been watching the tower camera image of Ft. Sumter for about the last hour. As the image of the fort has slowly emerged from the darkness the two laser light beams that arise from the fort made me think of the arch traced through the sky as first shells began to strike. One hundred and fifty years ago Americans, who saw themselves as Virginians and Carolinian’s, made war on fellow Americans to preserve the scourge called slavery. The terrible tragedy had begun and the deaths of many would soon follow

6:01 now. I think I’m beginning to see the flag and flagpole. Looking forward to seeing the sun rise soon. Almost reminds me of a Fort McHenry-type moment.
