Took a walk along the towpath, toward Dam 5. Quiet and uneventful otherwise. Droid doesn’t take good photos at night without supplemental light. Just over 15 minutes from midnight. Going to stay up a wee bit longer, then see about some sleep. The house has all the charm that I expected….
May walk among the four locks again.
I think that will be about it, till morning…

Hi Dick, Yes, staying here for the night. It’s one of four lockhouses open for overnight stays on the canal. Relatively inexpensive as well

First question, how did the house weather the overnight rains?
Second, what carrier are you using? I remember a poor signal out there on my last visit.

No rain last night up this way.
I use Verizon. It gets into an extended network here, but no problems sending or receiving.
No “happenings” last night. That sudden cool air I felt was no spirit, but the arrival of the front. Otherwise, my hair did stand up on the back of my neck once while sitting atop one of the locks when, from out of nowhere, I heard a snort and cloven hooves strike rock… I prefer to think it was a buck crossing the stone basin of the lock next to me… and not a cloven character from the lower regions: -)
